Brits and Yanks form an unlikely alliance to save the world

In Kingsman: The Golden Circle the British agents are forced to seek out help from their American counterpart, the Statesman, to stop a new threat set on wiping them out and destroying the world. This sounds like a regular Monday night for our witty and charming hero, Eggsy, who is played once again by Taron Egerton. This sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service is going to have all the elements that made that film entertaining as hell to watch. We’re going to get cool, futuristic gadgets, insane fun filled action sequences and let’s not forget about that one gorgeous woman in lingerie.

The awkward interactions between the elegant, well-dressed Kingsman agents and the manly, bourbon drinking, Statesmen agents is sure to give audience members some good laughs. The biggest mystery surrounding this sequel is, who will be the new over the top and extremely ridicules villain. Will he or she do justice to Samuel L. Jackson’s character Valentine and most importantly what kind of quirk will they have?

A couple of worrisome aspect about this film are how well can they establish and expand on the Kingsman’s secretive world while also keeping the main characters interesting. In the first Kingsman, we were given good character development that established the protagonist as an underdog with the potential for greatness. That gave us as a good reason to get invested in Eggsy’s journey to realizing his true potential. Will this film give us a good enough reason to stick around for more, or will this be the start of another cool series of action movies that you watch once and instantly forget about?

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is directed by Matthew Vaughn and it welcomes back Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and will introduce Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Channing Tatum to the cast. Look for this film in theaters on September.
